The text creates credit lines of up to R$30 billion. This credit allows taxi drivers and rideshare drivers to purchase vehicles. Thus, the measure extends the Move Brasil program. Therefore, the government taps resources the initiative had not yet allocated. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/planalto\/pt-br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The full text of the law is available on the Planalto website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>How the credit line works for rideshare drivers<\/h2>\n<p>The credit can finance vehicles worth up to R$200,000. The vehicles can run on ethanol, flex fuel, electric power, or hybrid systems. It also covers school vehicles, utility vehicles, and adaptations for people with disabilities. Rideshare drivers can access the credit line under certain conditions. They need at least six months of active registration on the platform. In addition, they must have completed a minimum of 100 rides. Taxi drivers can also access the credit, provided they hold a valid license and are in good tax standing. Taxi cooperatives and their members can participate as well.<\/p>\n<p>The financing allows installment plans of up to 84 months. The system uses variable amortization, including a larger final installment option (balloon payment). As a result, interest rates total 12.6% per year for men. For women, however, the rate drops to 11.5% per year, already including bank spread and fees. Still, each driver can finance only one vehicle. The same rule applies to each member within a cooperative.<\/p>\n<h2>Financial institutions and guarantees behind the program<\/h2>\n<p>Three institutions will carry out the operation: BNDES, Banco do Brasil, and Caixa Econ\u00f4mica Federal. The Guarantee Fund for Operations (FGO) backs the operation. This fund can cover up to 100% of the operations. In addition, the law provides differentiated conditions for women drivers. It also covers financing for safety adaptations and accessibility features for taxis that serve wheelchair users. Finally, the government expects to expand the fleet of clean vehicles used by taxi and rideshare drivers across the country.
