How the runoff count works
Voting ends at 5 p.m. (BrasĂlia time) on Sunday, October 25. From then on, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) begins releasing results, which are tallied precinct by precinct from the reports of the electronic voting machines.
In a runoff with two candidates, the winner is the one who gets the majority of valid votes. Valid votes are those cast for candidates: blank and null votes are not counted in the percentages.
How to use this page
The timer at the top counts down to 5 p.m. on Sunday and then switches to the counting time, until 100% of precincts have been tallied. The map and the panel refresh on their own every 30 seconds, with no need to reload the page. Tap or click a state to see its detailed numbers, and use the "Back to Brazil" button to return to the national total.
