Samsung began the official rollout of One UI 9.0 on September 16 — the new version of the interface that runs on top of Android across Galaxy devices. The rollout starts with the newest lineup and is gradually spreading to the more popular models in Brazil.
Who’s getting it, and when
The stable update started with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, and Samsung confirmed it will gradually spread to other Galaxy devices — including older models like the S24 and S25 series, the Fold/Flip foldables, and even mid-range A-series phones, which tend to be the best sellers in Brazil.
What’s new
One UI 9.0 leans further into generative AI features (Galaxy AI) spread across the system:
- My FanCam: automatically tracks and centers a chosen person during video recording, cutting down on manual editing.
- Creative Studio: now suggests image-generation ideas on its own, based on upcoming events on your calendar.
- Now Brief: a customizable daily summary, with cards covering health, weather and video.
- Now Nudge: context-aware suggestions during everyday tasks, like replying to a text or planning an appointment.
- Interpreter: gained a conversation-style Thread View, making it easier to follow a live translation.
- Document Scan: improved handling of tricky pages, like curved ones, with less manual adjustment needed.
On the security side, the system gained “Privacy Alerts,” which flag apps requesting unnecessary background permissions, and Scam Detection expanded to more countries.
Samsung also reorganized its support area: you can now check warranty status and book a repair directly from the “Warranty and Care” menu inside the device’s Settings.
