The 128 candidates running for state deputy, federal deputy and senator across the seven cities of Greater São Paulo’s ABC region received a combined R$34.7 million in party fund resources through September 18, according to a survey by the Diário do Grande ABC. The figure does not include the R$40 million allocated to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s campaign, which is accounted for separately.
São Bernardo accounts for 41% of the funds
São Bernardo do Campo leads the distribution with R$14.3 million — 41% of the total allocated to the region. It’s followed by Santo André (R$8.5 million), Diadema (R$3.41 million), Mauá (R$3.3 million), São Caetano do Sul (R$3.15 million) and Ribeirão Pires (R$2.08 million). Rio Grande da Serra had not recorded any party fund transfers as of the survey.
Top recipients
In São Bernardo, the largest amounts went to federal deputy candidates Orlando Morando (MDB), with R$2.85 million, and Vicentinho (PT), with R$1.8 million. In Santo André, Major Vitor Santos (PL) received R$1.2 million and Paulo Serra (PSDB) received R$1.185 million. In São Caetano, vice-mayor Regina Maura (PSD) received R$1.26 million for her federal deputy candidacy.
