Mauá’s renovated health clinics program began its September handovers with Paranavaí on September 17, 2026. The city then delivered the upgraded Flórida clinic, officially named Waldemar Fernandes, on September 18. Oratório and Zaíra 3 remain on the schedule for later in the month.
The original announcement had set September 16 as the first handover date. However, the city’s September 18 update confirms that Paranavaí reopened on Thursday, September 17. It also states that care continued during the renovation work.
Mauá’s renovated health clinics program
The work is part of a program with the federal government to renovate ten primary health care units, known locally as UBSs. Beyond this month’s handovers, the schedule includes Zaíra 2, Vila Assis, Parque das Américas, Jardim Mauá and Primavera. Feital is also due to receive smaller improvements.
The renovations aim to improve patient flow and accessibility. In addition, they cover technology infrastructure and working conditions for staff. The goal is to make the clinics more comfortable and welcoming.
Improving spaces for patient care
Mayor Marcelo Oliveira described the modernization of the health network as an ongoing effort. Meanwhile, Health Secretary Eliene de Paula Pinto stressed that the physical setting forms part of the care patients receive.
