Mercado Livre Delivery Workers Robbed in Ribeirão Pires; Armed Duo Takes Cargo, Phones and Documents

A driver and a delivery worker for Mercado Livre were robbed in Ribeirão Pires on Wednesday morning (16). It happened around 11 a.m. on Rua Boa Esperança, just past Rua Antônio Matias, between the Rosal and Aurora neighborhoods. According to the delivery workers themselves, a white Fiat Fiorino blocked the path of the company’s electric vehicle. Armed criminals then got out of the car and held up the victims.

According to the account, the robbers took the cargo being transported for delivery. They also took the two workers’ phones and personal documents. As a result, the delivery workers were left without any means of communication. They also lost the items they were supposed to deliver to customers.

Since they are not from the area, the delivery workers headed to Mercado Livre’s local base. There, they sought guidance on which police station was responsible for the case, in order to file a report. Not the First Time Delivery Workers Are Robbed in Ribeirão Pires

This is not the first time Mercado Livre delivery workers have faced armed robberies in Ribeirão Pires. In July, for example, a couple working as delivery drivers was held up by armed criminals in the Pouso Alegre neighborhood. Diário de Ribeirão Pires reported that case at the time. Therefore, residents and workers in the region are calling for increased policing on delivery routes.
