Brazilian musician Miguel Gandelman won the 2026 Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction. The award recognized his work on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, which took place earlier in the year.
The Rio de Janeiro-born professional received the honor during the technical awards weekend before September 7. Meanwhile, the main Emmy ceremony took place on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Bad Bunny’s performance was one of the major winners, collecting seven Emmy trophies in total. In addition to music direction, the show earned awards for lighting direction, directing, a live variety special and choreography.

Charm La’Donna and Karina Ortiz won Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming. Their victory added to the honors for the team responsible for staging the halftime spectacle.
