Playing a player down for most of the match, Corinthians beat Bahia 1-0 on Monday night (21) at Neo Química Arena, securing a spot in the Brazilian Women’s Championship final for the tenth consecutive time.
Defender Thaís Regina was sent off in the 33rd minute after a VAR review for a challenge on Wendy, leaving the Brabas a player short for nearly the rest of the match. Even so, the team kept pushing forward and broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, when Jhonson pounced on a rebound from a Duda Sampaio free kick.
The result matched the scoreline from the first leg in Salvador, sealing a 2-0 aggregate win and confirming Corinthians’ tenth straight national final.
The match drew a paying crowd of 9,551, the largest attendance for women’s football in Brazil so far in 2026.
In the final, Corinthians will face São Paulo, who eliminated Flamengo in the semifinals. It’s a rematch of the 2024 final, which Corinthians also won, as the club now chases its eighth national title.
