Ribeirão Pires becomes the “capital” of literature this weekend with the 5th FLIRP — Ribeirão Pires Literary Fair. The event runs this Saturday (26), 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday (27), 10 AM to 6 PM, at Mirante Santo Antônio (Rua Bela Vista, 105, Jardim Mirante), with free admission.
Honoring Dalila Teles Veras
This year’s edition, themed “Do desenho à palavra” (“From drawing to word”), honors writer, poet, publisher and cultural activist Dalila Teles Veras, who is also taking part in the program. Organized by the City of Ribeirão Pires through its Culture Department, and curated by Carlos Lopes Galego, the fair brings together more than 100 guests and around 80 book launches over the two days.
Created in 2022 in honor of Oswald de Andrade — who lived in Ribeirão Pires between 1949 and 1954 — FLIRP drew roughly 18,000 visitors in its first edition, and has since honored figures such as Clarice Lispector and Ariano Suassuna.
