Rock in Rio 2026 brought leading Brazilian and international artists to Cidade do Rock in Rio de Janeiro between September 4 and 13. The festival’s lineup included Elton John, South Korean group Stray Kids and Brazilian music icon Gilberto Gil.
Gil took the stage on September 7. His appearance highlighted the place of Brazilian popular music within an increasingly international event.
Rock in Rio combines different generations and styles
The program brought established veterans together with contemporary pop acts. As a result, audiences could find different musical styles and artists from several countries in the same festival lineup.
