A 9-year-old girl, missing since Monday night (21) from Parque São Bernardo, in São Bernardo do Campo, was found alive and safe on Tuesday morning (22). The child had gotten lost while walking her dog and spent the night outdoors, hiding under a parked car.
What happened
According to her mother, the girl went out for a walk on Monday afternoon and lost track of the way back home. Unable to remember her address and afraid of the dark, she took shelter on the street, accompanied only by her dog, until she was found the following morning.
The family had mobilized neighbors and social media overnight in search of information. As soon as the child was located, her mother publicly thanked the community for its support during the search.
The case underscores the importance of teaching children how to handle situations where they become disoriented, such as memorizing their home address and seeking help from adults or nearby businesses instead of wandering further away.
